Full of joy, but also a little sad, we have now reached a phase in the development of Nanolith in which I have the honor of developing the facilities for our final battle and thus bringing our characters' journey to an end.
A journey that began for me over 4 years ago. Even if slowly, but surely, it will come to an end and leave a legacy. A legacy that the final boss must take on.
By the time you arrive at the Final Battle, you have already spent over 50 hours fighting, solving puzzles, and reading stories in the world of Nanolith we created. You followed the thread that we laid for you.
It always reminds me a little of a museum tour, where of course we only show you artistic highlights of our exhibition to make sure that we keep your interest.
Nevertheless, you can feel the presence of the other small but not unimportant works of art in our house.
As we guide you through the long, winding corridors of the museum, you will spot one or two small works of art that put our highlight in the right ambience. This way it can have an even better effect on you, arouse your interest, raise questions and increase your excitement about what will happen when we present you the crown jewel of our exhibition.
But we are not at the end, we are at the beginning. We are back on “Shadow Moses Island” and we suddenly realize what we are fighting for. The boss fight changes its interface in every stage / its combat pattern in every phase of the fight . Music takes us emotionally through past major installments of Metal Gear Solid that shaped us a decade ago. By the time the sun sets in the background and we hear the dramatic title song “Snake Eater” we are back in the jungle.
In the full moonlight, “The Boss” stands on a white sea of tulips, ready to test us. We know again what we did and why they call us Big Boss.
With the lonely sounds of “The Old Snake,” Kojima interrupts that feeling and takes us to “Metal Gear Solid 4.” Two old snakes, at the end of their strength, miserable hit each other. In their agony, they bite into each other because they live in a world that has long since grown tired of them.
It ends just as scenically as Metal Gear begins. A legacy like no other in the gaming industry! Film-like production from start to finish!!!
But what is our heritage ???
It's funny that Nanolith is such a "heritage game". That's exactly what our final fight will be about. A legacy created by the players, through their decisions. I don't want to give anything away at this point, but everything you've done in Nanolith is working toward and influencing this situation.
